These terms form an agreement between you and HandlerWise and govern your use of handlerwise.com, including the food safety course, the final assessment, the purchase and download of a Food Safety Training Certificate, and the public certificate verification pages. By using the site you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
1. The service
HandlerWise provides online food safety training and a private Food Safety Training Certificate to students who complete the course and pass the assessment. The course modules and final assessment are free to access; a one-time fee applies only when you choose to download your certificate.
2. Not government-issued
The certificate is not a government-issued license or Food Handler Card. Its acceptance for regulatory or employment purposes depends on applicable state, county, city, employer and establishment requirements. See our Certificate Acceptance Policy and State Requirements Disclaimer for more detail.
3. Eligibility
You must be able to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction to use HandlerWise. If you are enrolling as a minor, a parent or legal guardian should review and agree to these terms on your behalf where required by local law.
4. Accounts and payments
You agree to provide accurate information at enrollment and to keep your contact details up to date. All fees are stated in USD at checkout before you confirm payment. Payments are processed by a third-party payment processor; HandlerWise does not store your full card details.

5. User conduct
When using HandlerWise you agree not to:
- Share, resell, or allow another person to take the assessment or claim a certificate on your behalf.
- Attempt to bypass, automate, or manipulate the assessment scoring or certificate verification system.
- Copy, scrape, or redistribute course content without written permission.
- Use the service for any unlawful purpose or in a way that could damage, disable, or impair it.
6. Certificate issuance and verification
A certificate is issued only after you pass the final assessment with the required score and complete payment. Each certificate carries a unique verification ID and QR code. Public verification pages display limited information (student name, course, issue/expiration date, provider name and status) as described in our Privacy Policy.
7. Intellectual property
Course content, materials, branding, and certificate designs are the property of HandlerWise or its licensors. You may use course materials for your own personal study but may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from them without our written consent.
8. Disclaimers and no warranty
The course and certificate are provided "as is." Completion of the course does not guarantee employment, promotion, or regulatory acceptance in any jurisdiction. To the fullest extent permitted by law, HandlerWise makes no warranty, express or implied, regarding the completeness or fitness of the training content for any particular regulatory purpose.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, HandlerWise is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including denial of employment or rejection of a certificate by a regulatory authority or employer.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which HandlerWise operates, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where local consumer protection law requires otherwise.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date at the bottom of this page. Continued use of the service after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
